MG Tallgeese III completed Gallery

Hey guys, Justin here again with another completed kit. this time it's another commission work, the P-bandai 1/100 scale MG Tallgeese III. I was a huge fan of the original tallgeese kit when it first came out, so getting my hands on this was super great, although i think the tallgeese II is my favorite variant, regardless the extra parts were nice. My client wanted stock colors and decals (and since this was p-bandai the water slides were included which was very nice) with little modification, shading and lining. So what I did was started with the frame, which i used a different color than normal to compliment the outer armor rather than contrast like i normally do.

my next plan was the armor needed to be broken up a little since the top half had the largest concentration of blue, i moved some blues to the legs and waist area as well as the inner pieces of the shoulders. just to help push the color scheme along. finally to break up the monotony of the white i added a couple of grey bits here and there just to keep interest going along the entire piece. in the end this is what i wound up with. unfortunately there aren't a mass of details on this kit, it's fairly clean with little in the way of panel lines and the like. but it's still a really fun kit.

Master Grade Ez8 "2.0" build Completed Gallery

So this is for the Elite Group Build over at The Mecha Lounge

I really wanted to do a new Ez8 and do better than I did with my Original Ez8 Build

I liked my original, but I felt i could have done better with the weathering and the paint. So I wanted to improve on all fronts. Anyway, If you've been following my wips, you know all of that. so, on to the pictures!

Master Grade Build Strike/Full Package Completed Gallery

So it's been a while since i've finished a big project. and this has been a big step for me. I loved the original Aile Strike RM, it was probably one of my favorite builds last year, and this was no exception. I started the build just like i usually do. with the frame, and i worked my way up from there.

hit the bump and we'll get started :)

Master Grade ez8 Elite Group build Wip: 1

SO i've neglected my blog once again. but here i am with another WIP. this one is kind of a throwback, (not much unlike the build strike i suppose, but actually a throwback)

one of my favorite builds last year was the Ez8, so I thought for the mecha lounge Elite group build, I'd raise my game a little.

MG Build Strike WIP: 1

one of my favorite builds of last year was easily my MG Aile Strike RM (which can be found here and on youtube) I enjoyed it so much, i had entertained the idea of building another actually, But shortly after i was ready to take the dive, this awesome MG was announced. I've been following the build fighters series since it started, and I'm really enjoying it. and the build strike has been no exception, the design grew on me almost immediately. Anyway. enough about that. my goal with this build was to replicate the same kind of build as my aile strike, but take it to the next level. I'm going to do another RG style color separation (i love color separating parts if you haven't been able to tell) as well as shading, and decals.

Master Grade Efreet Nacht Completed Gallery

So late last year, i entered my good friend Simon (otherwise known as gundamUK) 's level up contest. with the intent of trying something new, in the theme of the contest. for this, I jokingly slapped a few parts of kits together then wound up going with resin instead. so for my first resin build, painted and ocmpleted. i struggled and have finally finished the MG Efreet nacht.

Master Grade Aile Strike Remaster WIP: 1 (+unboxing and review)

So this has been a busy and semi-productive week (or has it been two?) for me. I've been pretty swamped with work and the like, but I've been pushing some work out, or trying at least. anyway. the topic at hand. THE AILE STRIKE REMASTER.

let me just say, this kit, is Fantastic. If you're a fan of the aile strike, or you were on the fence about picking this one up. I say go for it. such a solid build.

I sat down after test-fitting and reviewing the kit and started doing a little painting on the frame.

i'm not too far in yet. but you can get an idea of the look i'm trying to achieve with this guy. I'm very pleased with the difference in the metallics so far. Hit the bump for more pictures, as well as my unboxing video, and some thoughts on the kit itself. :)

GWC 1.0 entry: MG Ez8 Completed Gallery and Review

Here stands the behemoth. the past couple of weeks have been poured into making this guy look as good (I use the term 'good' very loosely here) As you can see (and have been seeing if you've been following my progress) I went with a slightly modified OOB color scheme for this guy. I kept the metallics as they would appear, and blues are in place, but instead of going with the tan color the kit was molded in, I went with a pre-shaded gray/white scheme. I think it suits the look of the kit overall better, and I think it looks more urban as opposed to having that 'desert' look to it.

I was stealing some of Dan's patented 360 degree photo 'swag' (I hope he doesn't mind) and my camera curiously enough, I guess recognised what I was doing, and automatically made a .gif out of it... technology...

anyway, Hit the bump for a small review, and some of my thoughts on this guy :) as well as a ton of photos!

GWC 1.0 entry: MG Ez8 WIP: 3

So this week has shown a lot of progress. I've been semi-lazy but somehow I have produced a lot in terms of progress on the Ez8 for Gundam Beginner's contest. since last update I have finished weathering the outer armor, primed, painted and pre-shaded everything, and then hand-brushed all of my weathering on. did some more dry brushing and decaling and right now it's at the final gloss stage.

for those of you who don't like reading or pictures, here's a WIP video for you:

And for the rest of you, continue as normal ;D stuff happens after the jump

GWC 1.0 entry: MG Ez8 WIP: 2

So my aim is to get myself back into a schedule and update my blog and my youtube, as well as the various other places i post my content on a semi-regular basis. Hopefully I'll be able to make enough progress throughout the week to keep this up. So we'll see what happens.

ANYWAY. the Ez8. I've finished painting and dry brushing the frame. and i've finished painting all (read: about 90-ish%) of all of the metallics on the kit. so a majority of what's left is the armor parts, as well as the backpack.

Just a little sample. I'll try to take more pictures of the frame before i slap all of the armor on the final product. :)

here's the WIP video for the progress i've made so far.

Bro-Build Blue frame: Second Revise Completed Gallery

So I have finished my portion of my build-off with the amazing Dan. ( You can look at his completed red frame here ) this was an insanely awesome and hair pulling and skill testing build.

My goal here was to take everything i've learned up to this point and try to apply it as well as trying some new techniques, and using some new things here and there with this build. The most notable thing for me here was learning how to pre-shade, and the use of the metallic paints, which stand out the most in the build to me. another thing i wanted to do was create some sort of contrast between those two things, so i decided to leave the frame glossy, while using flats on the armor parts, which came out better than expected.

MG Blue-Frame Second Revise Bro-Build with GGD WIP: 3

it has been a long and busy week with work, as summer is approaching and everyone is trying to get everything sorted out for that. so i've been spending a little more time sleeping than painting. but fortunately I've got the next two days off, so I hope to wrap this guy up in that time. I'll show you some pictures and then we'll get into what's left.

Also: a big shout out to my friend Cody, for the awesome banner for my blog. Love it.

so I did a test spray and fitted the painted and decaled armor, and a comparing shot with my original blue frame build. my shading is a little heavier than i had originally hoped for, but I do like how it looks. with the blue showing through more it looks nice against the frame, but still contrasts the gloss/flats well. so i'm more than pleased with this.

MG Blue-Frame Second Revise Bro-Build with GGD WIP: 2

If that title isn't a mouthful... Anyway, after seeing Dan, completed his build of his Red-frame, and was ready for paint. I realised it was time to step my game up hardcore. so I quickly got to work, and knocked out the rest of the build...
